About The La Pietra Bed & Breakfast

All through out my professional career I have been fortunate enough to live and work in many different cultures like, for example, Hong Kong, China, India and the US. I have learned many truths about myself and one of them is that i like to socialize with people of different nationalities and cultures.

I ended up in Italy by accident, one could say. My son and I wanted to go on a holiday together when i lived in Hong Kong and we decided to come here.

As I spent some time in Italy once i was a small kid, I always had good memories. Visiting Le Marche with its beautiful rolling hills, close to the coast and as well as the skiing resorts an hour away made me realize that this was the place for me.

I love the history that we have here and of course the food. The beautiful landscapes is something that I now can wake up to every morning and that makes me truly happy. When i found this beautiful house it wasn’t in a good shape and I knew that it wouldn’t be an easy job. Also, the land around the house was initially not big enough to make a garden and a swimming pool and I had to purchase that separately.

My idea was to create a place not too expensive but that could still offer quality and a fantastic experience. I wanted to offer a different B%B from rest and with a bigger space, filled with the history of Grottazzolina and my life and a nice pool, and of course, the quality that only Italians can offer in regards to Food and Wine.

Grottazzolina is located close to the beach, fantastic wine-beer-cheese makers and of course prosciutto and salami are also made in this beautiful zone. There is a one hour drive to a very good skiing resort in the Sibillini Mountains and  Cassette D’Ete which is a place filled with outlets, like Prada and TODs between others.
